Welcome to New Cally Church!
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." -Isaiah 41:10

Hope you are doing well this Wednesday night. A beautiful fall day out there!
We still have 3 books left during our Sermon series, so if you don't have one, now's the time. The chapters are not sequential, in that you don't have to read chapter 2 to understand chapter 3. So, whenever you pick up a book, all you need to do is read chapter 1 and the chapter we will be on for Sunday-Thursday. I'll always put the chapter number in these Prep for Worship mailings.
Secondly, a reminder that our yearly Tailgate Party will be Saturday night! This is in honor of the times (a while back) when people went to OSU games traveling from Marysville on Industrial Parkway. The church offered chilli to warm the soul before a game (was it after a game also?). We start at 6:30 with food and fellowship. OSU plays Purdue at 7:30. We'll probably have the TV feed until half time. That should get most of you home before the second half begins. We'd love to see you Saturday night!
For this Sunday, please read chapter 4 in the book. Also:
Text: Matthew 23:23-32
As you read the text Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees and other Jewish leaders. Pay close attention to your attitude as you read the text. If you're like me, your mind may wander to people you think fit Jesus' description. This text looks at 4 of the 7 "woes" Jesus pronounced on the leaders. Which of these 4 hits close to home for you? Where do you find yourself struggling? How would focusing more on Jesus' every minute presence with you help you be more authentically Christian in your life?
See you along the way this week!
